As a Psychiatric Nurse Assistant with Hold Health Staffing, you will provide essential support to patients with mental health conditions, and play a critical role in delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with personal care needs, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Help patients with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques
• Monitor patients' mental health status, and report any changes to the healthcare team
• Administer medications as prescribed by the healthcare team
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, and communicate any concerns to the healthcare team
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, as required by healthcare policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Completion of a recognized Psychiatric Nurse Assistant program
• Active registration with the nursing college in the province/territory where you will be working (if applicable)
• Minimum of 6-12 months of experience working in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or mental health facility
• Vulnerable Persons Check and Adult and Child Abuse Registry Check
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion, empathy, and the ability to provide emotional support to patients and their families
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift and transfer patients, and stand for long periods of time

Specialty Skills:

• Addiction Nurse Assistants: Must have experience in providing care to patients with addiction or substance use disorders, knowledge of harm reduction strategies, and ability to provide emotional support to patients and their families.
• Forensic Nurse Assistants: Must have experience in providing care to patients in forensic mental health settings, knowledge of security and safety protocols, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Geriatric Nurse Assistants: Must have experience in providing care to elderly patients with mental health conditions, knowledge of age-related changes in mental health, and ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families.
